OHIO JACQUARD COVERLET, SIGNED PETER GRIMM, 1857 - Ashland Co., Ohio, 1857. A jacquard coverlet in pink, indigo, and white. Centerfield consists of sunbursts and rosettes in primrose wreaths, with eight point star fillers. Side borders with a fenced orchard, bottom border with town and churches. Corner blocks with a train, signed ”LOUDONVILLE ASHL. COUNTY OHIO WOVE BY PETER GRIMM 1851.” Fringed on three sides, with center seam. 78” long, 68” wide. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
