TWO SIGNED OHIO JACQUARD COVERLETS - Wayne Co., Ohio, 1845 and 1851. Two jacquard coerlets: the first a jacquard coverlet in pink, indigo, and white. Centerfield with Lilies of France around a 16-point rosette, offset with sunbursts. Side borders depict birds in flowering trees. Bottom border depicts distelfink (bird and rose tree). Corner blocks signed ”BENJAMIN LICHTY BRISTOL OHIO 1845.” Fringed on three sides, with center seam. 83.5” long, 70.5” wide; together with a jacquard coverlet in gold, pink, indigo, and white. Centerfield with 16-pt rosettes surrunded by leaves and stars, offset with more rosettes. Side borders with bands of stars. Bottom border with eagles and trees above another star strip. Corner blocks inscribed ”PETER RI-NCER CH-ESTER TP WAYNE CO OHIO 1851.” Formerly fringed on three sides, center seam. 77” long. 65” wide w/o fringe. Rincer coverlet: Significant wear and weave losses one one half. Significant fringe loss on all sides. Wear, tear, and holes along edges. Some stains and discoloration. One hole on reverse side.
