ASHLAND CO., OHIO JACQUARD COVERLET, SIGNED ISAAC BROWN - Ashland Co., Ohio, 1851. A jacquard coverlet in indigo, red, light blue, teal, and white. Centerfield with double roses offset with blossoms and stars. Side borders with stylized grapevines. Bottom border with floral vines. Corner blocks read ”Made by Isaac Brown for ___ ___ 1851.” With center seam, fringed on three sides. Isaac Brown was a coverlet weaver from Pennsylvania, active in Ashland County around 1850. 85” long, 77” wide w/o fringe. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
