OVERSHOT COVERLETS, GROUP OF THREE - American, 19th century, wool. Three overshot coverlets: the first in red, white, and indigo. Centerfield with snowballs and rosettes. Border with pine trees. With center seam, and fringed on three sides. ”N M” embroidered on one corner. 84” long, 69” wide w/o fringe; the second in indigo and white. Centerfield with tiled snowballs and squares. Pine tree border. With center seam, and fringed on three sides. 81” long, 65” wide w/o fringe; the third in green and red with geometric designs. 82” long, 63” wide. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
