KNOX CO., OHIO JACQUARD COVERLET, ATTRIB. ADAM YEAROUS - Knox Co. Ohio, 1846, wool and flax. A jacquard coverlet in pink, indigo, and white. Centerfield with floral cross surrounded by foliate wreaths, offset by radiating curly leaves. Side borders have stylized grapevine. Bottom border has houses, trees, and birds. Corner blocks have eagle trademark, inscribed ”Knox County Ohio 1846.” Attributed to Adam Yearous, who was weaving with this pattern and trademark in Knox Co. OH from 1847-1868. With center seam, and fringed on three sides. 85” long, 71” wide w/o fringe. Provenance: The Collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
