CHEST OF DRAWERS, JACOB KNAGY, PENNSYLVANIA - Somerset County, 1856, cherry and poplar. Two over three drawers and turned feet. Refinished, but some of the original stenciled medallion remains ”SCHLABACH 1856.” 48” high, 40” wide, 19.5” deep. Jacob's half-sister Barbara (1791-1868) married Christian Schlabach (1793-1871) in 1823. The couple had five children who are candidates for the original owner of this chest.
