ZOAR, OHIO NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER - Dated 1880, wool on linen. Brightly colored sampler with alphabets, dated 1880, flowers, birds, and a Zoar star. Framed, 16” high, 20.5” wide. Though it has no name, the inclusion of the star and the opinion of noted Zoar historian Jack Adamson suggests that it was made in Zoar. Provenance; Keeping House Bed and Breakfast, Zoar, Ohio; purchased from Cynthia Dutton in 2014 (her mother was the power of attorney for a member of Keurcherer family of Zoar).
