MINIATURE CLASSICAL CHEST OF DRAWERS - Probably Ohio, dated 1854, mahogany, birdseye maple, poplar. Dressing bureau, with a ”wishbone” mirror over three faux drawers, over a large bowed drawer and three graduated drawers, with scrolled pilasters and feet. The case is veneered in birdseye maple and the drawers with mahogany. 20.25” high, 12.5” wide, 7.5” deep. On the back is a frustratingly illegible inscription: ”October __ 1854 // Presented to __ Eliza __ / When this you see Remember / Me Jacob __”. Eliza and Jacob appear to have the same last name but it cannot be discerned.
