INDIANA COVERLET WITH SAILBOAT - William or Joseph Gilmour, Union County, Indiana, dated 1841. Blue and white, floral field, and the borders with houses and birds, and with sailboats in the corners. 90.5” by 75.25”. See Montgomery, Indiana Coverlet Weavers and Their Coverlets, pp. 50-51. The ship corner block was used by William, Joseph, and Gabriel Gilmour, but in 1841, Gabriel moved to Decatur County, leaving William and Joseph to run the partnership together.
