IMPRESSIVE PATRIOTIC CARVED MIRROR - American, early 20th century, mahogany. Oval mirror with carved rope surround, flanked by oak leaves and tiny acorns, surmounted by a spread-winged eagle with arrows and olive branches in its claws, and on top of a US shield and US flags. The keystone at the top of the mirror is incised with initials of unknown meaning. Retains its original finish. 39” high, 27.27” wide (overall). The size and scale of this suggest that it was made for a lodge or public building. Provenance: a Pennsylvania collection.
