RARE WASHINGTON COUNTY, OHIO HALF COVERLET, PLUS A JACQUARD COVERLET - Includes a blue, light red, mustard, and natural half coverlet with corner block for Johann Adam Schneider, Adams Township, and dated 1860, with a rose field and bird and floral border, 85” by 36.5”; together with a red, gold, and natural coverlet with bird and grape border, unsigned, 82” by 67”. Schneider immigrated from Germany as a trained weaver, settling in the town of Lowell, just up the Muskingum River from Marietta. Provenance: the collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
