TWO JACQUARD COVERLETS - American, mid-19th century. Includes a red, blue, and natural coverlet with bird and building border and ”JACOB FEASEL” in the corner block, 92” by 64”; together with a red, blue, and natural coverlet with an unsual design including columns, 82” by 78”. There was a Jacob Feasel born in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in 1797, and living in Violet Township, Fairfield County, Ohio through the mid-19th century. Provenance: the collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
