FOUR AMERICAN QUILT TOPS - 2nd half-19th century. A patchwork, 81” by 79”; a top with fifty-six 8-point stars of printed fabrics on a green ground, 88” by 79”; an unusual striped top with vibrant fabrics (one identified as French and 1820s), 97” by 93”; and a dazzling star pattern signed ”Matdilda _____ 1854” and ”Mary Lane______ 1854,” 83” by 72”. Provenance: the collection of the late Dr. Virginia Gunn, Wooster, Ohio.
