Bidspirit auction | An 18kt antique cluster ring

An 18kt antique cluster ring set with beautiful rose cut diamonds. The central diamond is a large rose cut (24 facets) diamond of approx. 7 mm, surrounded by 12 rose cut (9 facets) diamonds of approx. 3 mm and 2 on the shank of approx. 1.3 mm. The diamond quality is extremely good for this period. The ring was made in the Georgian period, mid 18th century. On each side of the cluster, on the shank, a small extra rose cut diamond is set (9 facets.) All diamonds are in a setting with a closed back, (with in all probability a foil underneath for extra sparkle of the diamonds.) The setting has a silver layer over it to make the stones stand out better, over the years this layer has partly worn off. This was typical for this period. Quality and color of diamonds: Varying from SI to P3, color I-K Fluorescence: 3 diamonds show blue fluorescence, 2 weak and 1 medium. Weight 4.7 grams including diamonds.
