Provenienz: lt. Angabe des Einlieferers aus dem Besitz des ehemaligen Oberbürgermeisters der Stadt Düsseldorf, Dr. Hans Wagenführ, dazu beigegeben Ernennungsschreiben des Düsseldorfer Regierungs-Präsidenten aus dem Jahr 1933 an ebendiesen Regierungsrat Dr. (Hans) Wagenführ, anlässlich der Ernennung zum Oberbürgermeister der Stadt Düsseldorf, dieser erhielt die Skulptur im Rahmen der großen Reichsausstellung 1937 als Geschenk. Künstlerinfo: auch Hans van Breek als Pseudonym, deutscher Bildhauer (1906 Elberfeld bis 1993 Düsseldorf), Bruder von Arno Breker, 1925-27 Studium an der Dresdner Akademie unter Karl Albiker, dann von 1928-32 unter Richard Langer an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie, bis 1942 freischaffend in Düsseldorf tätig, bereiste mit seiner Familie anschließend Florenz, nach der Zerstörung seines Düsseldorfer Ateliers und seiner Wohnung übersiedelte die Familie nach Weimar, dort ab 1945 Lehrtätigkeit an der Hochschule für Baukunst und bildende Künste unter seinem Pseudonym, 1948 „Professor auf Lebenszeit“ und Übernahme des Lehrstuhls für Freie Plastik sowie Architektur- und Aktzeichnung, ab 1954 wieder in Düsseldorf ansässig und freischaffend tätig. Provenance: according to the consignor from the property of the former Lord Mayor of the City of Düsseldorf, Dr Hans Wagenführ, accompanied by a letter of appointment from the President of the Düsseldorf Government from 1933 to the same councillor Dr (Hans) Wagenführ, on the occasion of his appointment as Lord Mayor of the City of Düsseldorf, who received the sculpture as a gift during the great Reich Exhibition in 1937.
