Large icon Russia, 19th cent, inscribed in Church Slavonic, tempera over chalk ground on a double-blocked hardwood panel, richly decorated in gold, indicated kovcheg, central depiction with motif of the extended Deesis, Christ Pantocrator enthroned in the centre of the painting, flanked by Mary and John the Baptist as well as other saints and angels, with God the Father hovering above on a cloud base, the corner spandrels also depict the four Evangelists, traces of age, partially retouched, dimensions 55 x 43 cm.
