Thick, quality leaves. Fine, well-preserved copy with an original leather binding, embossed. Fine printing as indicated by the printers on the title page: "באותיות חדשות ובנייר יפה בתכלית השלימות לא נהיה כמוהו מעולם" (New fonts and paper, most perfect beauty..)

Signature on leaf 3:   "..יוסף אשריקי.."  - possibly the holy Gaon, the Meluban, Rabbi Yosef Ashriki, ca. 1640-1740, see: Ma'alot Eliyahu, p. 34 and onward.

Complete set of the polemic book Chemdat Yamim dealing with customs and Halachot and Kabbalistic moral lessons. The book was written in special, clear language, encouraging the readers to Avodas Hashem. Printed for the first time in Izmir in 1731 by Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov Algazi who wrote he had copied it from an old manuscript he had purchased near Safed whose writer was anonymous. It should be noted that the Yavetz believed its author was Nathan of Gaza, who was a member of the Sabbatean Movement; therefore, the Yavetz spoke out against the book.

On the last leaves, lengthy glosses of important content in Sephardic script.

Title pages with red lettering. The headings of the first pages are also with red lettering.

The edges of the title page of the first section are cut.

Some bright staining and some small moth holes.

Fine, worn leather binding.

109, 129 leaves.

Good condition.
