Menorat Hama'or with the Nefesh Yehuda Commentary. Amsterdam, 1722 - Rare edition. Without the Ashkenazic translation. One of the most prominent of Mussar books, which had many editions, by Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhav, with the Nefesh Yehuda commentary by Rabbi Moshe Frankfurter of Amsterdam.  Two title pages, the first of them illustrated with biblical scenes, figures and elements.  The author, Rabbi Moshe Frankfurter ( 1672-1962), one of the Dayanim of Amsterdam, the great-uncle of the Chasam Sofer. He authored his Nefesh Yehuda commentary when he was approx. 28 years.  In his introduction, he complains about the Offenbach printery which made many printing errors: ”ע”כ מהראוי שלא ללמוד בתוכו עד אשר יתקנו את אשר עוותו אם יהיה באפשרות כי קלקלו עד מאוד ואין שורה שאין בו טעיות וממש פרוץ מרובה על העומד”. [5], 129 leaves.  The title pages are incomplete and with taping.  Stains and wear.  Fair condition.
