Copy of Maran Rabbi Ovadya Yosef from the Years He was Rav in Cairo, Egypts - Pachad Yitzchak, the letter  נ' by Rabbi Yitzchak Lampronti, Moreh Tzeddek of the Ferrara community. Lik, 1864. First edition published by the Chevrat Makitzei Nirdamim.  On the guard leaf, a self-dedication handwritten by Maran Rabbi Ovadya Yosef: ” נתון לי מישיבת ק”ק מערבים בנ”א מהגבאי ר' יהודה כ?וס נ”י חוהמ”פ תש”י עובדיה יוסף ”.  Rabbeinu Maran Ovadya Yosef (1921-2014) Gedol Hador and Posek Hador. Reviver of the Sephardic Torah world. At the age of twenty only, received his rabbinic and Dayanut Semicha from Rabbi Ben Zion Meir Chai Uziel.  Rav in Egypt:  After his wedding in 1947, Maran was asked by Rav Uziel to serve as Rosh Av Beis Din of Cairo, Egypt. There, he also headed the Ahava VeAchva Yeshiva.   Although he was actually appointed as the deputy of the Chief Rabbi, in practice, he took upon himself the entire Halachic system of the Jewish communities that included writing Gittin, Arichat Kiddushin and writing dozens of halachic responses, solving the problems the Jewish communities had to cope with.  After discovering serious Kashruth problems in public institutions and realizing the incompetence of their supervisors despite his recurring requests, Rabbeinu resigned his position and in summer 1950, returned to Israel.  This dedication was written on Chol Hamoed (!) Pesach, 1950, after he resigned his position as Rav in Egypt and shortly before he returned to Israel.  His experiences in Egypt influenced his entire life as demonstrated by his Psikot, sermons and books. It is also known that his stay in Egypt caused the visual impairment that led him to wearing the famed dark glasses.   [2], 100 leaves.  Some moth. Stains. Several detached leaves.
