Rare. Tiferet Hagershoni. First Edition - Frankfurt am Main, 1659 - Sermons and elucidations on the Torah by the famed Gaon Rabbi Gershon Ashkenazi, author of Avodat Hagershoni. The author was a disciple of the Bach and the Maginei Shlomo, and led the struggle against the Sabbatean Movement in its onset. His leading disicple, Rabbi David Oppenheim, writes about him in his foreword to Shut Avodat Hagershoni that if the Torah had been forgotten in his lifetime, he would have brought it back with his PIlpul. Fine illustrated title page with a round, architectural border depicting plants and cherubs (the title page that was printed for the first time in Shut HaBach). [8], 96 leaves. Stains. Good condition.
