Very rare! Letter handwritten and signed by the Polish gaon - Harav Yisrael Yehoshua Trunk, the Yeshuos Malko of Kutno ”... ve'al davar hamasur lalev ne'emar Veyareisa...” Letter by Harav Yisrael Yehoshua Trunk of Kutno - the Yeshuos Malko. Exceptionally rare! Letters from Harav Yisrael Eliyahu Yehoshua Trunk of Kutno, author of Yeshuos Malko, have not appeared at public auctions, but here is a letter in his holy hand and with his signature. Harav Yisrael Yehoshua Trunk - the Yeshuos Malko [1821 - 1893] was among the great rabbanim of his generation and a distinguished posek. He was a great genius. He was friendly with the greatest rabbanim and Rebbes, including the Avnei Nezer and the Chiddushei HaRim. He served as Av Beis Din in Vorka, Pultusk and Kutno. He would sign his name ”Yisrael Yehoshua” only, as the letters of the name ”Eliyahu” appear within these two names. His works: Shu”t Yeshuos Malko on the sections of the Shulchan Aruch, Yeshuos Yisrael on Choshen Mishpat and more. An interesting letter calling upon the recipient to complete his financial obligation to his divorcée, ”to give her everything he can and this is the proper thing to do...” After his signature, the gaon adds a note to the recipient in his holy hand, ”Please do not cause her anguish... regarding a matter of the heart it is written ”Veyareisa [!!!]”. From the style of the appeal, it appears that the divorcé was an esteemed rabbinic figure. ”Be'ezras Hashem Yisbarach, Kutno, eve of ...” Approximately 16/19.5 cm. 14 lines in his holy hand plus his signature. Tears, and on the upper left part of the letter, part of the page is missing, along with a few words.
