Copy of an Orphaned Disciple of the Divrei Chaim who was Adopted and Raised by Him - Sefer Divrei Chaim First Edition Munkatch 1878 - Copy of the Admor of Amszana, Rabbi Yosef Hacohen Hollander (1840-1882), Admor and Rav of Amszana. When he was 11, his father passed away and the Divrei Chaim adopted him, considering him as one of his sons. Was a friend of his grandsons, Rabbi Shlomo of Bobov and Rabbi Moshe of Bardejov; they used to study together. Their Rav, Rabbi Chaim of Sanz advised them to appoint Rabbi Yosef as head of the Chavurah and they become his disciples. Married Chana, the daughter of Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Kaner of Rimanov, the son-in-law by his first marriage of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Rimanov. His leading Rav was Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, who gave him his rabbinic Semicha and appointed him Rav and Admor of Amszana. In Kislev 1874, his grandfather, Rabbi Binyamin Zeev Blumenfeld, passed away and he was asked to succeed him as Rosh Av Beis Din of Lviv. Rabbi Shimon Sofer of Krakow wrote that he deserved it. Several years later, he left the city, fearing he would not be able to educate his children as he wished in the large city, and returned to Amszana although Rabbi Yechezkel of Shinova tried to persuade him not to leaves.
