Chassidut, second edition. Or Hameir (Zhytomyr) - Koretz after 1798. Important stamps and signatures!

Sefer Or Hameir, Chassidic and Kabbalistic Drushim and Remazim on the Torah, the Megillot and Jewish festivals by the Admor the holy Rav Rabbi Ze'ev Wolf of Zhytomyr, one of the leading disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch. The book introduces many Shmu'ot by his Rav "I have heard from the Maggid".

Chassidic Tzaddikim greatly praised him including Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz who said that he saw how Eliyahu the Prophet accompanies him, telling him the secret of the Idra Kaddisha.

Sefer Or Hameir was one of the first Chassidic books and is characterized by is sharp and poignant style. It was popular with Chassidic Tzaddikim (see below).

The book was written by his disciple the holy Rav Rabbi Eliezer of Zhytomyr the author of Pirkei Hanazar.

The Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin said of the book that a Jew's duty was to behave as written in it. Of all Chassidic books, this one was the holy Rav Rabbi Chanoch of Alexanders' favorite one (Tiferet Avot, Vizhnitz, 1993, p. 208).

During the years 1798-1810, several similar editions of the books were published, including some variants. See: A. Tauber, Bibliographical Studies, pp. 36-39' Y. Yudlov, Ginzei Yisrael, no. 1140. In this copy, the year of printing is 1798, like that of the first edition; however, it contains several variations compared to it including the variation in the approbations - extension of the period it is forbidden to reprint the book, from fifteen to twenty years.
