FIRST EDITION Rabbi Yosef David Sinzheim (c. 1740-1813) was one of the greatest rabbis of his time. He was the chief rabbi of France and the head of Napoleon's ””Sanhedrin.”” He was known as the Yad David after the name of his book.”
