Rare! Ammunition box from WWII (from the British army in 1944) that was used by Anglo Palestine Bank, Tel Aviv, Israel in 1949 to store and transfer coins/money. In this trunk/safe, Israeli coins were transferred from the Mint via ships from England to Israel. 10 pruta coins were minted in England for the Israeli government. ICI (Imperial Chemical Industries) and ordinal number ('38) on box. On the back is printed: STRONG ROOM STORAGE (indicating where, on the ship, it should be held). Included in the lot is a 10pruta coin from 1949 in UNC condition. The box has handles at either side and lock. The box is in good condition. 55cm width x 24cm height x 20cm depth.
