RELIQUARY OF ST. TORIBIO DE MOGROVEJO - Openwork silver work with relic, glazed, with seal on the reverse, 19th c. 8.5 x 7 cm Toribio de Mogrovejo, alias Turibius of Lima (November 18, 1538 in Mayorga, Spain; March 23, 1606 in Saña, Peru) was a Spanish missionary and the third Archbishop of Lima. He was canonized and declared patron saint of Latin American bishops. He is venerated by the locals as the ”Protector of the Indians.”
