(274) GUEX À PARIS, ENAMELLED GOLD WATCH, CIRCA 1790 - Gold case, guilloched and enamelled base, with a painting in the center on a pink background depicting a woman in a landscape and a child holding his hands up, as well as a cage with a bird. The motif is surrounded by 2 circles: the first is green enamelled and the second, as well as the bezel, are blue enamelled, 2 control stamps (2 eagle heads) on a long bow and an oval ring. White enamel dial, with Arabic numerals, signed: Guex à Paris. The hand in blued steel, in Breguet style. Movement: Pillars, in gilded brass, signed: Guex à Paris, large pierced and gilded brass balance cock, silver regulating dial, blued steel hand, verge escapement, chain and fusee, winding and hand setting with key. D: 52 mm, H: 19.5 mm, 81g In 2003, Prof. Curtit wrote in his expertise: Example in perfect state of preservation and function, only the edge of the winding hole in the dial is slightly worn.
