Efim Yakovlevich REZNIKOV (1894-1979) - Collection of 47 original designs for political and military posters, as well as satirical cartoons, 1941–1952. Various sizes: from 16 x 21.5 cm to 43.5 x 31 cm A significant collection of early works by the Soviet graphic artist, cartoonist, and poster designer Efim Y. Reznikov, primarily created in the context of World War II. The designs were created for the well-known TASS windows and published in the newspapers Frunzenets and Pravda. Some later works address the ideological conflict of the postwar period with the USA and Western nations. Reznikov's works are held in various collections, including the State Museum of Defense of Moscow and the Scientific Library of the Russian Academy of Arts; further examples are held in important private collections. This series represents a rare, complete collection from the artist's personal oeuvre.
