Miller High Life Prohibition Era Paper Sign - Brewer/Business Name: Fred Miller Brewing Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin Manufacturer/Plant: Unknown Date of manufacture: Prohibition Contents/Type: n/a Dimensions: 16-1/2 w x 10 h. Comments/description: Colorful but quirky illustration makes this a very endearing and attractive piece. The main typography is very cool and brands the piece nicely. The oddities of the image include a bizarre perspective of the bottle that, like the tray and glasses, is rendered straight-on except for the very top which looks likes it is viewed from above. Also note the window reflection on the brown glass even though the scene occurs outdoors. The front of the car is rendered in detail up to the door, where it then seems to go on endlessly in a long, flat panel. The child in the white hat, not one of the adults, is the one reaching for the brew, and with an awkwardly short arm and small hand. Her other hand has 5 fingers and no thumb while the nanny also has only four digits at the end of her too-long arm. Is she somehow levitating above the whole scene? Just a great sign in top condition with loads of intriguing talking points! Near mint condition. Printed by Illinois Litho of Chicago. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
