Droshim by chasidim on the Torah, third section of Vayikra, by the Gaon Rabbi Meir Dan ben Rabbi Haim Itzhak Platzky, a sage of Poland. [4], 286 pages in the original—this copy is missing the title page and ends on page 256. Also missing one page from the beginning of the last pamphlet (we did not look page by page). Old, worn binding, various stains, otherwise good condition.
The body of the work has glosses and notes in nice handwriting, which are long and significant, in which the writer analyzes the author’s words deeply (pilpul) and compares it with other tzaddikim, as on page 87: “The Rim says the opposite…”. In places where the author of the book disagrees with prior authors, the note writer justifies the earlier author frequently. The notes testify to the notetaker’s proficiency.
