Sefer Kitvei Kodesh on the holidays and pirkei avot and a few parshiyot from the Torah and likkutim, from four great Chassidic sages: founder of chassidut the Baal Shem Tov, his student Rabbi Dov Beer (the Maggid of Mastrich), Rabbi Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev, and Rabbi Yisrael the Maggid of Kozhnitz. Second edition. Endorsement by Rabbi Yeshaya Mushkat of Prague. 40 leaves 80 pages. Bound together with the work Mateh Dan, the Second Kuzari, by Rabbi David Nito of London. Printed in Warsaw 1884. 75 leaves, 150 pages. Binding partially detached, a few moth holes, stains, small tears, overall good condition.


Stamp of ownership: “Eliyahu Meir Bloch”. Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Bloch was head of the Telz yeshiva (1894-1955), son of Rabbi Yosef Yehuda Leib. He was a leader of American Jewry, a Ram in Telz at his father’s yeshiva. In 1940, at the height of WWII, he succeeded miraculously to escape Lithuania and reach the United States, where he settled in Cleveland and re-established the Telz yeshiva with his brother-in-law, Rabbi Haim Mordechai Katz, and Rabbi Mordechai Gipter of Telz and other rabbis. He served as a member of the Council of Torah Sages in America.
