Miniature siddur, rare in good condition. Amsterdam 1739. - Siddur according to the Sefardi minhag, miniature edition printed by Naftali Hirtz Levi in Amsterdam. 7x4cm. 318 leaves. Catalogued in the rare books section of the National Library. Leaf 223 has an additional title page “Siddur Tefillot for Moadim Tovim”. The publisher’s introduction (Rabbi Meir Karskash) notes at the beginning that he saw in Amsterdam a siddur in a small volume without niqqud and he could not handle seeing the suffering of youths struggling to read it, so he printed this with niqqud for the purposes of beauty and proper grammar. Early binding, probably original, partially detached, tape on the first title page and the last leaf. Overall good condition—especially rare for a prayerbook since they are used regularly.
