Sefer Temunat HaGedolim, with events from their lives and their biographies, hashkafa, activity, and public influence, edited and published by Avigdor Katzburg, who was the editor of Neta’ei Bachurim. No year or location of printing noted on the title page. Printed according to the format of the first edition, Neupest (Újpest), 1925. The back of the title page lists New York without the year of printing. The National Library (where it resides in the Rare books section) lists it as printed in 1950. 60 pages, [17] tables.


A small and unique book with pictures of Hungarian gedolim of 100 years ago, with the approbation of the gaon Rabbi Koppel Reich, Av Beit Din of Pest. Pictures of: Rabbi Avraham Yitzhak Glick of Tolchova, the Shevet Sofer of Pressburg, Rabbi Koppel Charif, Rabbi Moshe Yosef Haufman (the Papa Dayan) who was still alive, the Maharitz Dushinsky, Rabbi Yeshaya Zilberstein of Weizen, and more. Overall very good condition. Loose binding, defective spine, overall good condition.


The blank first leaf has a dedication and signature from the editor and publisher, Rabbi Avigdor HaKohen Katzburg, from the 5th Tammuz 1954. He lived 1884-1965, was the son of David Zvi. He published and edited many biographies and the journal Neta’ei Bachurim, designed for young bachurim studying the Torah.
