Chabad Auction – presenting the rare Tanya and Siddur Shanghai and a collection of Siddurim, Ari version – an auction for collectors of books and pedigreed copies as well.

All items of this auction that were given directly by the Rebbe were thoroughly checked by the auction house to determine who received them from the Rebbe. For most of them, we received additional evidence such as a photograph taken when the item was received and varied authenticity tests. Due to the complexity, items whose source is Rabbi Shaul Shimon Deutsch were specifically noted.

The recipients' names were obscured in most of the items, at the request of their owners, and will be revealed to the buyers. Be advised, further questions about the items should be directed to the auction house until 24 hours before the auction. Entering a bid is binding with all that that entails. Thank you.

The auction will take place on Wednesday 04.01.2023 at 20:00.

Extremely Rare - Rostover Siddur: Siddur Tehilat Hashem - [Rostov-Don] Leningrad, 1926

Siddur Tehilat Hashem, prayers for all year round, Ari version, edited according to the Admor's version. Rostov-Don. Published and printed by Ezra 1918. This copy is of a later edition that was printed as a photocopy of the Rostov Siddur by Rabbi Kalmanson in Leningrad (today, St. Petersburg, Russia) in 1926. 53 leaves. Professionally restored title page. Dry paper. Tears to the edges and stains. Good overall condition, rare for such an important book. New binding.

Background: the Rostov Siddur is a Siddur of the Ari version known today as the version of the Chabad Chassidim. Was printed by the order of the Rebbe Rashab in Rostov on the Don River in 1918. At the time, many Jews escaped Russia due to the civil war there and there was a shortage of Sifrei Kodesh and Siddurim. Rabbi Zalman idel Zusslin was assigned the task and he edited the Siddur and promoted its publishing.
