Segulah Book: Pri Kodesh Hillulim by the Holy Rav Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Ziditchev - First Edition, Lemberg 1833
Sefer Pri Kodesh Hillulim, a foreword and commentary on the famed, basic Kabbalistic book Pri Etz Chaim by the Ari, by the Holy Rav Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Eichenstein of Ziditchev. The press of Yehudit Rosanis - First edition, Lemberg 1833. [1], 21, 15, [1] leaves. Stefansky Chassidut no. 483.
"והראיה בו יפעול לנפש בגוף ונפש כל טוב ארץ ושמירה מכל רע כל נגע וכל מחלה ח"ו ובזה אך טוב לישראל" (from tha approbation by Rabbeinu's brother Tabbi Moshe of Sambor for Sefer Ateret Zvi, writing about the virtue of learning Rabbeinu's books, printed at the beginning of Pri Kodesh Hillulim, Orshiva 1928 edition). The book was also approbated by the holy Rav Rabbi Azriel Green Av Beit Din of Munkatch. His approbation was written in 1835 yet was printed only after his passing in the following edition.
Stains. Some moth perforations to several leaves. Edges trimmed close to the upper text of some leaves. New semi-leather binding. Good overall condition.
The author, the Admor, author of Ateret Zvi of Ziditchev, Rabbi Zvi Eichenstein, was a leading disciple of the Chozeh of Lublin. After the passing of his Rav, the Chozeh, became the leader of his community in Ziditchev. Was known as Sar Beit Hazohar after his book Ateret Zvi on the Zohar.
On the last page, an ownership signature:"מנחם זאב ברש"י קרא" - Rabbi Menachem Ze'ev ben Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Kara. His father, Rabbi Shlomo Yosef, was an important Naggid in Munkatch, who followed the Bnei Yissachar of Dinov during the time he served as Rav of Munkatch.
His son, Rabbi Menachem Ze'ev, was born in Munkatch and was a great Talmid Chacham, knowledgeable also of Chochmat Hanistar. He was beloved by the holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak of Komarno, who chose to stay in his house whenever he visited Munkatch. He was one of the few who were allowed to be present when his Rav passed away.
The Kara family was a pedigreed family, descending from Rabbi Avigdor Kara, Av Beit Din of Prague and author of Sefer Hapli'ah /Sefer Hakana, and of course, from Maran the Beit Yosef and the great Tana Rabbi Nechunya ben Hakana.
