Sefer Torat Chaim, Ma'amarim by the Mitteler Admor on Chumash Bereshit, based on short Ma'amarim by the Admor Hazaken. A volume with the two sections: Section I: Parashot Bereshit-Chayei Sarah, second edition. Section II: Toldot-Vayechi, first edition. Published by Rabbi Menachem Nachum, the Mitteler Admor's son. Warsaw, 1866. Each section has a separate title page and in addition, a general title page with red lettering. [2], 141, [1], 108 leaves. Fine ancient leather binding. Wide margins. Some tears to the edges of some leaves. Stains. Varied minor blemishes. Good overall condition.
Ownership notations of Rabbi Avraham Zalman Schneersohn of Hebron (passed away in 1934) the son of Rabbi Shalom Kasranovsky and Mrs. Sterna Sarah, the daughter of the Rebbetzin Menucha Rachel, the daughter of the Mitteler Rebbe, the author of this book. He changed his family name to Schnerrsohn by the order of the Rebbe Rashab after being forced to escape the Land of Israel due to persecution by the Arabs of Hebron. The Rebbe' secretary Rabbi Yehuda Leib Gruner was one of Rabbi Avraham Zalman's grandsons.
