An interesting letter, remnant of a Jewish community far from other Jewish centers, even in USA and Canada terms.

Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Levin, the son of Rabbi Moshe Halevi of Lovech, Minsk District, a student of Novhardok and Kovno. Received his Hora'ah Semicha from Rabbi Yechiel Michl Halevi Epstein, the Aruch Hashulchan. Immigrated to the USA in 1906 and served as Rav of Manchester, New Hampshire and then of Hamilton, Canada.
