With the Rare Chassidic Approbation! Chibat Yerushalayim on the Holy Places - Jerusalem, 1844
Sefer Chibat Yerushalayim, original work documenting Eretz Yisrael and its holy places and towns, divided into Mamarim such as Mamar Ranenu Tzaddikim on the Rashbi Hillula on Lag BaOmer in Meiron, Mamar Mevaseret Zion on Jerusalem and Zion and its wall and gates and so on.
By Rabbi Chaim ben (Doverish) Horowitz and published by Rabbi Mordechai ben Shmuel Horowitz the in-law of the Rav Migeza Zvi (see below). Printed by Rabbi Yisrael Bak "with the printing press gift of Moshe and Yehudit" referring to Sir Montefiore and his wife who donated money to the famed Jerusalem printery, thus supporting the Old Yishuv. First edition of one of the first books that were printed in Jerusalem - Jerusalem, 1844. [3], 60 leaves. Shishana Halevi 23.
Approbation and rareness!
In this copy, there is an additional leaf (completely detached) which does not appear in most copies, with an approbation by Rabbi Aharon Moshe Migeza Zvi of Brod praising the work and a foreword by his in-law the publisher. According to the National Library - where the book is in the Rare Book Collection - most copies do not have this leaf. Some bibliographers assume that the reason lies in that 1844 was the onset of the Chassidic settlement in Jerusalem and due to the fear of the Prushim community, this leaf was not publicly published.

Stains. Good overall condiiton.
On the title page, a Sephardic signature: "הצעיר עזריה אשכנזי ס"ט". An additional notation on verso of the last leaf and on the back guard leaf.
