Sefer Kitzurim Vehe’arot to the Tanya, with a Dollar Bill Given Directly by the Rebbe - 29th Elul 1989.

Kuntres Kitzurim Vehe’arot Lesefer Likutei Amarim by Rabbeinu the Tzemach Tzedek, published by Kehat, 29th Elul 1989. Bright binding. Stains. Good overall condition. The recipient's name on the title page.

With a $1 bill given with it. Very good condiiton.

For the 29th of Elul (Erev Rosh HaShana, 1989), the 200th birthday of the Admor Tzemach Tzedek (1789-1989), the Rebbe ordered the printing of a new edition of the booklet Kitzurim Vehe’arot Lesefer Likutei Amarim by the Admor the Tzemach Tzedek, edited by the Rebbe.

On the eve of the 29th of Elul, 1989
Upon the Rebbe’s return from the Ohel , he entered the main synagogue and went to his seat on the Bimah, which had been prepared for Tishrei, to pray Minchah and Maariv. By that time the synagogue was already full and crowded. After the prayers, the Rebbe walked towards the special Stender, and began a Sichat Kodesh in honor of the day, the last day of the Hebrew year and the 200th birthday of the Tzemach Tzedek.

During the Sichah, the public was surprised to hear that the Rebbe would distribute, by himself, to each of those present, a Kuntres of Kitzurim Vehe’arot Lesefer Likutei Amarim by the Tzemach Tzedek (edited by the Rebbe), a new edition printed by the order of the Rebbe.

For more than three hours he stood and gave to everyone - men, women, and even babies - the book with the blue binding, with a dollar for charity, refusing to give an additional copy for someone who was not there. During the Chalukah, the Admor was shown the new book of Igrot Kodesh, section 14, which had just been published.

The public was so happy with the gift, that even in the middle of the night one could see groups sitting and studying the “fresh” pages of the new book. In the early hours of the morning, the Admor enetered the synagogue to say Selichot, holding the Kuntres Kitzurim Vehe'arot which he had distributed yesterday.
(From the Mazkeret Netzach Chalukot Chabad).
