Rare Variant: Tanya with Many Signatures - Vilna, 1930
Likutei Amarim Tanya with Igeret Hatshuvah and Igeret Hakodesh by Rabbeinu the Admor Hazaken. Facsimile edition of the Vilna 1900 edition - Vilna, 1930. Two title pages. Originally, [1], 163 leaves. In this copy, the last two leaves are missing.
Interesting variant!
In this book there is Interesting variation which does not appear in any other known copy of the 1930 edition. On verso of the title page, the famed qoute "Published by Chevrat Tomchei Temimim of Lubavitch" does not appear and is replaced by the foreign inscriptions (Poland Vilna) and the foreign year 1930 only. This variation makes this edition an extremely rare one, so much so that even Monshine (Sefer Hatanya p. 221) did not note such a copy.
Fine margins. Old binding. Stains. Good overall condition.
Frequently used copy!
This copy was used by many Chassidim, as indicated by the many signatures and notations on the title pages, their verso and elsewhere. There are also faded stamps: "חברה קנין ספרים דק"ק אמסאנע". We did not thoroughly study the names; however, there are some familiar ones such as the city of Krakow, Yechiel Neiger, Shlomo Zalman Wetsher and many more.
