Historical Igeret Kodesh by the Rebbe the Rayatz indicating his Concern and Mesirut Nefesh for Providing the Needs for Passover of the Jews behind the Iron Curtain - Adar, 1942 - Typewritten on the Rebbe the Rayatz' official stationery from 770 New York, dated Adar 12, 1942, addressed to Histadrut HaMizrachi. The Rebbe describes his activity for providing the needs for Passover of the Jews of the USSR, referring to the rabbis of Eretz Yisrael including Rav Herzog, Rav Uziel, Rav Amiel, Rabbi Dushunsky, and the rabbis of London Rabbi Hertz, Rabbi Abramsky and more, who support his request. The Rebbe appeals to the Histadrut HaMizrachi, asking that they send a telegram to the JOINT with a request to meet the demand for Matzah of the Jews of the USSR. He ends with ”בברכה” and his handwritten signature. This letter was never printed in Igrot Kodesh of the Rebbe Rayatz, only similar letters that were sent on this date to other organizations, places and people, about this activity.
