In the foreword at the beginning of the book, after the details of the additions and corrections in this edition, the Rebbe writes: ”... many times did the Admor [the Rayatz] speak of the need to print the Tanya in such a format that it would be convenient to carry it in the pocket of one’s clothes, and in any case be ready to go on the way. And after the Tanya was published with the additions - in two editions - we have published a pocket edition - in this edition, some of the printing errors of the previous editions were corrected.
