Amud HaEmunah, Amud HaAvodah and Amud HaTorah. Torah includes Torah, Avodah and Gemilut Chassadim and the virtues a man should have in small format to bring merit to all, compiled and edited by Rabbi Gedalya [Rabbi Gedalya Teiks author of Be'er HaTorah and more], the son of Rabbi Avraham Menachem”. First edition printed by Hertz Levi Rofeh and his son-in-law Kashman, Amsterdam - 1764. 77 leaves. 11 cm. Some stains. Fine original binding with minor blemishes. Very good overall condition. Extremely rare! With the last leaf containing a ”Moda'ah” that does not appear in all copies. To travel to the Holy Land soon The book is written in Hebrew with a Yiddish translation and is approbated by Rabbi Shaul Av Beit Din of Amsterdam and Rabbi Shlomo Shalem, Rav of the Portuguese community of Amsterdam. At the end of the work, the author writes that since he is intending to travel to the Holy Land soon, he wanted to publish the book before his trip to awaken the heart of the Jewish people and to merit travelling safely with his wife to the Holy Land. Capable of purifying one's thoughts Then he added verses forming the initials of his name and varied prayers including a prayer to be said daily by Rabbi Yitzchak Luria [the Ari], a prayer to be said every morning and a prayer which is capable of purifying one's thoughts. It is interesting to note that the latter prayer appears in the writings of Rabbi Mordechai of Nadvorna and he too wrote that it is capable of purifying one's thoughts.
