Signature and Gloss by Rabbi Yaakov David Biderman - From the Library of the Ger Admorim - Ateret Rosh and Ateret Tiferet Two Sections of Sefer Livyat Chen - First Edition, 1766-7 - Ateret Rosh Section I and Sefer Ateret Tiferet Section II, “two sections included in the work Livyat Chen…” on masechet Berachot and Mishnayot of Seder Zera’im, with illustrations. By Rabbi Levi ben David, Av Beit Din of Kodni (Lithuania). First edition - Amsterdam, Section I was printed in 1766, Second II in 1767 (according to the colophon, 1768). Many important approbations by the rabbis of Amsterdam, Hague, Horodna, Vilna, Tiktin, Hanover, Galona, Wandsbek. [1], 81, [1]; [1], 65, 18, 24 leaves. Contemporary leather binding. Incomplete spine. Partly detached binding. Stains and minor blemishes. Good overall condition.  Pedigreed copy with glosses This book was owned by Rabbi Yaakov David Biderman as indicated by his handwritten signature on the title page and his stamps, which appear in several places in the book. The book was inherited by his son and successor as Rav of Vishgorod, Rabbi Yechezkel , whose signature and stamps also appear in the book. After the Holocaust, the Imrei Emet of Ger received the library of his in-law and brother-in-law Rabbi Yaakov Meir Biderman and the book became part of the Imrei Emet's library in Jerusalem . After the Imrei Emet's passing, his son the Admor the Pnei Menachem inherited the book and he added his stamps throughout the book. On the guard leaves there are additional signatures and notations which have not been studied. The book contains approx. 20 glosses, some by Rabbi Yaakov David and one of them by the Pnei Menachem. The rest have not been studied.   Rabbi Yaakov David Biderman (1806-1863) the son of Rabbi Yisrael Isser of Mezeritch who was a disciple of HaYehudi Hakadosh of Pershischa. Served as Av Beit Din of Kozhnitz and then Vishgorod and for some time, served as Dayan in Mezeritch. Followed Rabbi Shlomo Leib of Lentshno, the Saraf of Kock and the Chidushei HaRim of Ger. The Rav of Lentshno once said to the Rav of Vorka that Rabbi Yaakov David was a full bookcase. In Shem Hagedolim it is written that he left many manuscripts and in addiiton, all his books contain many glosses handwritten by him .
