Polemic: Lengthy Halachic Responsum on Dinei Yisrael Mumar Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Waldenberg to the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Weltz - with Reference to the Gaon Av Beit Din Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch Shlita - Most important! Lengthy Halachic Responsum - on varied matters pertaining to Yisrael Mumar and Ger Shenitgayer - three pages handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Waldenberg the author of the Tzitz Eliezer - addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Weltz Rosh Av Beit Din of Budapest - Jerusalem, 1963.  The letter addresses three subjects: 1. Responsum on the attitude towards Yisrael Mumar and whether it is permitted to desecrate the Sabbath for him. 2. Whether Tevilat Keilim is necessary for dishes of a Ger. 3. Whethet Tevilat Keilim is necessary for the dishes of a Yisrael Mumar. In this context, Rebbinu reminds Rabbi Weltz of Responsum he was sent by the Geonim the Levushei Mordechai and the Maharshag, ”מדוע לא ציין גם לטובים השניים שהשיבו בזה בזמנו לכתר”ה בעצמו...” . Later, Rabbi Waldenberg recalls a Responsum on the subject which he wrote to Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch Shlita, ”ובתשובתי להרב שטרנבוך כתבתי לו כבר מזה....”.  It should be noted that Rabbi Sternbuch was then a 33-year-old Avrech, much younger than these two Geonim...
