Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Farber of London - with References to the Gaon Rabbi Aryeh Levin - London, 1958 - פר”ש לכבוד הרב הגאון הצדיק מוהר”א לעווין שליט”א  -  Letter handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Farber, the chairman of the Union of Rabbis of London - addressed to the management of the Etz Chaim Yeshiva in Jerusalem - London, 1958.  The letter was sent during the Austerity in Israel, during which food was distributed sparingly. During this period, the rabbis of the USA and Britain made efforts to send food packages to Israel for yeshiva students. In his letter, Rabbeinu informs the Etz Chaim Yeshiva that he sent it 25 packages for the poor children of Jerusalem and asks for a receipt: ”שלחתי... 25 חבילות לטובת תשב”ר ונא בטובם לשלוח לי שובר...”. At the end of the letter, Rabbeinu send regards to the spiritual manager the Tzaddik Rabbi Aryeh Levin, the Father of the Prisoners”: ”פר”ש לכבוד הרב הגאון הצדיק מוהר”א לעווין שליט”א”.  Aerogram.  20X24 cm.  Wear to the edges not affecting the text. Good condition.   Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Farber, the author of Kerem Zvi (1879-1967) was the son of Yehuda Leib of Slobodka. He studied under: Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan in Kovno, Rabbi Yitzchak Belzer, Rabbi Moshe Danishevsky, Rabbi Naftali Amsterdam. He was Rav in Kalikol-the Kovno district, in 1907. He later immigrated to England and served as an activist at the Etz Chaim yeshiva in London, and Ram in the Manchester yeshiva (headed by Rabbi Menachem Dov Danotzky). In 1910 he was appointed Rav of a community in London. He was a founder and head of the Union of Rabbis in London. He authored Eshet Chayil and more, as well as many articles in journals of the period.
