Extremely Rare Certification Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Greenwald Av Beit Din of Chust and the Grandson of Baal Arugot Habosem - Chust, 1935 - Certification letter for Rabbi Yisrael Halpert - handwritten and signed by the famed Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Greenwald, author of Shut Chessed Yehoshua - the Grandson of Baal Arugot Habosem and the son-in-law of Maran the Imrei Chaim - Chust, 1935.  In his letter, Rabbeinu confirms that Rabbi Halpert served as Rav and Darshan in the community of Chust: שאמת וצדק איך שהרב ישראל האלפערט נ”י משמש.. מביהכנ”ס דפה קהלתינו יצ”ו בתור רב ודורש זה איזה שנים...”. Written on the official stationery: Rosh Av Beit Din of Ungvar and beneath it, written in pencil: now Av Beit Din of Chust and the vicinity. Official stationery with an official logo.  15X23 cm.  Filing holes. Fold line. Good condition.  The Gaon the Chassid Rabbi Yehoshua Greenwald (1909-1969) the son and successor of the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yosef Greenw3ald Av Beit Din of Chust and the grandson of Maran Baakl Arugot Habosem. The son-in-law by his first marriage of the author of the Knesset Yechezkel of Deyzh and after the war, the son-in-law of Maran the Imrei Chaim. When he lived in Deyzh, he helped his in-law to manage the large yeshiva in the place and later served as Rosh Av Beit Din of Ungvar. After the Maharitz Dushinsky immigrated to Eretz Yisrael to serve as Gaon Av Beit Din of Jerusalem, he became Av Beit Din of Chust. Survived the Holocaust and moved to the USA, living in Brooklyn where he founded his Beit Midrash, Kehal Yere'im Chust. Authored the books Chessed Yehoshua Shut, Chessed Yehoshua on the Shas and more.
