Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein the Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron - about His Son-in-Law the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Aharon Hacohen - 4 Days after His Wedding! Sivan 17, 1929 - Important letter - handwritten entirely by the famed Gaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein, the Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron - about his son-in-law the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Aharon Hacohen - in the midst of the days of his Sheva Berachot - Sivan 17, 1929.  Apparently, the newlyweds needed some certificate from the authorities. The Rosh Yeshiva sat down in the middle of the Sheva Berachot and wrote a certificate for his son-in-law stating that he is one of the Maggidei Shiur at the yeshiva.  Three months later, the 1929 Riots occurred and the Yeshiva, its students and rabbis moved to Jerusalem.  Letter on the official stationery of the Hebron Yeshiva.  16X22.5 cm.  Filing holes. Fold lines. Good condition.  Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein (1866-1934), the son of Rabbi Zvi Chaim Epstein Av Beit Din of Bakst. In 1894, the Saba of Slobodka appointed him Rosh Yeshiva of the yeshiva he founded, the Yeshivat Slobodka. Later he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael settling in Hebron, far away from the bustle of the city. After the 1929 Riots he moved the yeshiva to Jerusalem, where he passed away in 1934. Wherever he lived he served as a leader of Chareidi Jewry. Authored the work Levush Mordechai on the Shas.
