Rare! Author's Autograph: a Leaf from His Famed Book KafHachaim Handwritten by Rabbeinu Yaakov Chaim Sofer and with His Fingreprints, in an Impressive Leather Binding - אנא נפשי כתבית! Exciting! A leaf from the famed Sefer Yesod, Kaf Hachaim, by the Gaon and Mekubal Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer handwritten by Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer and with his fingerprints. The leaf contains part of Siman 124 on Hilchot Tefillah. Along the leaf, erasures, additionas and corrections by the sacred author himself. Restorations of tears slightly affecting the text, Stains and fold lines. Placed in an impressive, embossed leather binding. It should be noted that a leaf from his famed work is extremely rare. Until now, leaves handwritten by him from his famed work have never been auctioned. In addition, the leaf has his fingerprints, which were inked on the leaf while he was writing. The Gaon and Mekubal Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer (1870-1939), the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Baruch. Was born in Baghdad, where he was a disciple of Rabbi Abdallah Somech and Rabbi Yosef Chaim (the Ben Ish Chai). He was a sage of Baghdad and Jerusalem and a leading Posek, author of the series of halachic books titled the Kaf HaChaim, which was known as the Sephardic Mishnah Berurah.  He spent his days studying Torah and writing his work in the attic of the Shoshanim LeDavid synagogue in Jerusalem, founded by the Ben Ish Chai, where he was saved miraculously during an earthquake in Jerusalem. Besides being a contemporary Posek Hador, he was known as a wonder-worker Mekubal, as indicated by Rabbi Yehuda Tzedakah, who recalled: “Every Shabbos his shape would change unrecognizably!” He authored additional works: Chaim Ad HaOlam on the ends of masechtot, Kol Yaakov on Hilachot Stam, Chukei Chaim with Drashot for varied events and Yagel Yaakov with chiddushim on the Torah.
