Rare Collection including s Notation, Signature, Gloss and Stamps of the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Brisk Av Beit Din of Tashnad and His Father Rabbi Yehoshua Av Beit Din of Dada - 4 Books from Their Library - Rare collection from the library of the Brisk family the Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Brisk and his son Rabbi Mordechai Brisk, 6 books in 4 volumes:  Handwritten notation, signature and stamp:  1. Sefer Miztvot Gadol section II, with the work Brit Moshe by Rabbi Moshe Chaim ben Rabbi Avraham Aharon Weiss of Kleinwardein - first edition of Brit Moshe Munkatch  - 1905. Section II: Mitzvot Asseh. Originally, [4], 188 leaves. In this copy, until leaf 90 the rest is missing.  On the flyleaf, a notation handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai of Brisk:  ”אלו ארבע חלקי סמ”ג (לפנינו כאמור אחד בלבד) עם פירש ברית משה קיבלתי מאת כבוד ש”ב הרה”ג המחבר שליט”א. הק' מרדכי בה”ג אבד”ק דאדא שליט”א, בלומדי בישיבה הרמה דק”ק מאד יע”א ”. On the title page, his stamp: ”מרדכי בריסק דיין מארגרעטען”. Gloss and stamp 2. Sefer Machaneh Yisrael section I, on tractates Gittin and Shvu'ot by Rabbi Yisrael Neuman Dayan of Krakow - first edition - 1884. [2], 86 leaves.  On the title page, a stamp: ”מרדכי בריסק דיין מארגרעטען” and on leaf 2, a gloss handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai of Brisk. In addition, on the flyleaf, an ownership notation by Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Weissblum Av Beit Din of Svirez, the grandson of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk and of the Rav of Ziditchov. An additional undeciphered signature on the flyleaf.  Copy of father and son 3. Shut Mahari Cohen, Mahadura Tanyana, by Rabbi Yisrael Hacohen Rappaport Av Beit Din of Tornva - first edition Lemberg - 1875. [2], 114; 28, [4] leaves. Bound with Sefer Chidushei Mahari Cohen on the Rif's Halachot Ketanot, by the above Rav - first ediiton Lemberg - 1875. [1], 35 leaves. On the title page, a stamp: ”מרדכי בריסק דיין מארגרעטען” and stamps of his father: ”יהושע בריסק א”ב דק”ק דאדא והגליל”. On the front and back flyleaves, many notations that were not studied.  ”Belongs to... Tzaddik Yesod Olam” 4. Sefer Haflaot Nedarim, on Masechet Nedarim by Rabbi Yosef  Lebeit Yaakov Levi of Zolshitz - first edition Warsaw - 1865. [1], 87 leaves. Bound with Sefer Otzar Chaim Shut on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim and Yoreh Deah by Rabbi Chaim Kitze - first edition Máramarossziget - 1913. 12, 124 leaves. On the title page of the book, a handwritten notation: ”זה הספר שייך לכבוד ק' אדמו”ר הגאון... המפורסם הצדיק יסוד עולם... כקש”ת מרן מרדכי בריסק אבדק”ק טאשנאד”. Varied blemishes. Conditions vary. Mostly good condition.  The Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Brisk (d. 1918) the Rav of Tisa-Dada. The son of Rabbi Moshe Shmuel. His maternal grandfather was Rabbi Meir Avraham of Tshabe. Served as Rav of Tisa-Dada for almost fifty years. Was close to the Tzaddikim of his generation, particularly his leading Rav of Liska. Wondrously, his grave in Tisa-Dada and that of the Rebbetzin survived although the cemetery was destroyed.  The Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Brisk (1886-1944) the son of the Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Brisk, the Rav of Tisa-Dada. Received his Hora'ah Semicha when he was 18 from his Rav Rabbi Mordechai Yehuda Leib Winkler of Mad and by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Glick of Toltshtva. Served as Dayan and Moreh Tzeddek of Margarita, where his in-law lived. Several years later, he was appointed Rav of Tashnad, where he established a large yeshiva. Perished in Auschwitz with his wife and children, except for his son Rabbi Aharon Zvi Brisk, who survived. His Chidushim were published in Shut Maharam Brisk and Drashot Maharam Brisk.
